One song that never fails to inspire me. I first heard 你最珍贵 by 张学友 and 高慧君 when i was a young kid whose interest in chinese oldies was sparked off by his mom.
After a recent liason with this song recently, many thoughts flooded my mind. This song has a meaningful title which sends a deep meaning entrenched to any listeners hearts. It was this song that really enlightened me about the true meaning of the word cherish.
To some, the word cherish could just mean to treat something dearly. However, to me, to cherish is a totally different level altogether. To me, to cherish is to really love and show care and concern. Also, it could be towards anything and in any form. There are many variations of cherish. However, what is important is that there is sincerity and good intentions behind those acts.
For those who think they lead very happy and content lives, that is excellent. However, we should always cherish what we have now for if its gone, we will never know when we will get it back or whether it will be lost forever...

You say it best when you say nothing at all

First post in this new blog. Therefore i shall start with an issue that never ceases to surprise me. A few days ago, i was on the STomp! website trying to pass my time. I immediately swarmed to my favourite section on that website-
Singapore Seen. Upon "stumbling" to that page. The topics i saw left me dumbfounded. It ranged from milder topics like the refusal to give up priority seats to more controversial topics like the pair of assumed "amorous couple" making out in public while in uniform.
However, what astonished me more was the comments that were left behind. Most of the comments were sane and with a certain logic in it while the others had abit of humour and wit. There were also a minority whose comments that were insensitive, immature and blantly crude. They were also filled with grammatical errors that it totally abhors any decent reader. It let me to think further. Is this what we expect of Singaporeans? Being a metropolitan country with an intelligent population, it really does not seem like Singaporeans are gracious enough to call them members of an elite nation with humble beginnings.
Words can be helpful as well as deadly. As part of a developed civilisation, it is our duty to watch what we say and be careful of the words that come out of our mouth. It leaves me feeling nostalgic as i am reminded of the song that i was so attached to whilst growing up. If you have nothing postive to say, You say it best when you say nothing at all...
